SHOTGUN PLACE FINDER SHOOTING FIELD PLACE FINDER BUTT MARKER
A device used to choose the first shooting position in a game shoot.
The most common shape is similar to a Vesta case containing until 10 numbered ivory pegs, but examples are known in the shape of a cartridge or a flask containing numbered balls.
|
Any numbered peg is randomly inserted in the sheath and each shooter takes his turn to draw a peg revealing the number of the shooting position (butt) to use for the first drive.
Today we assist to a revival of interest on silver place finders that are highly researched by shooters looking for antique examples of Edwardian and George V production
