silver wedding spoon - Germany![]() It bears spurious pseudo ancient Augsburg's marks used by Ludwig Neresheimer of Hanau (Germany) and an Austrian import mark of the beginning of 20th century. Ref. Wolfgang Schleffer, Goldschmiede Hesse, mark #489 (the lowecase 'n' a variant of Neresheimer's legal trademark), #494 (the '13') & #499 (the faux Augsburg mark): courtesy Charles C. Cage). Three winged cupids fly over the bowl wich is embossed with Neptune holding a trident. The spiral stem has the finial in the shape of an ancient explorer (likely Columbus) with an anchor and an aboriginal inhabitant crouched beside him.
