A SMALL COLLECTION OF ANTIQUE SILVER AND OBJECTS OF VERTU

silver tumbler - Italy
this is a silver tumbler made in Italy at the beginning of 20th century.
It has 800 mark (purity degree 800/1000 for Italian silver) and an engraved monogram nb.
The tumbler is 2 in. tall (cm. 5) and was bought from an Italian dealer at an Antique Fair.
The plain unusual shape of this 20th century tumbler seems to be inspired by cups of XVIII century of
similar shape. The last photo below belongs to a cup made in London in 1790 by silversmith Peter Podio.
