silver letter opener

Russian antique silver letter opener: elephant's head handle Unfortunately this silver letter opener wasn't made in St. Petersburg (Russia) around 1900 but is of modern manufacture. It bears fake hallmarks of St.Petersburg (in use after 1896), purity degree 84 (zolotnicki, 875/1000 silver) and silversmith's mark A.C.
The silver handle has the shape of an elephant's head while the blade is made of celluloid similar to ivory.
The letter opener is 10 1/4 in. long (cm. 26,5) while the silver handle is 4 in. long (cm. 10).
Beware!! Today most of the Russian silver and Judaica silver are new or fake
