pair of 19th century Belgian silver flower holders
this is pair of silver and glass flower holders made in Belgium in the first half of the 19th century.
They have a silver base standing on four paw and ball feet and a circular saw-pierced body supporting the slender glass vase.
They have the Belgium hallmark used for 833/1000 silver between 1814-1831 (letter N, for town of Luxemburg, than a province of the Low Countries), the Dutch axe-mark used in Netherlands from 1813-1953 and maker's mark PD.
The flower holder have a diameter of 1 1/2 in. (cm. 4) on the bowl, is 3 in. (cm. 7,5) high and was bought from a Dutch dealer through the Internet.
