barbotine dish -AustriaThe " barbotine " is a decoration in relief on a ceramic object obtained pouring semi-liquid clay through a beef horn. " Barbotine " is the French definition for this tecnique, but this procedure was well known since antiquity. This barbotine dish was probably made in Austria, at the end of 19th century. The dish has a central band with the landscape of a lake and a boat. The upper and lower band is decorated in relief, the one with sky-blue flowers and the other with green geometrical designs The dish has a 6 1/2 in. diameter (cm. 17) and was bought by an Italian dealer at an Antique Market. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
